I was at the peak of my career as a breast cancer surgeon when I made the hardest decision of my life—I walked away. Not because I didn’t love my work. I did. My surgeries were often curative, and there was nothing more fulfilling than helping my patients. But after having kids at 42 and 44, I realized I wanted to actually raise them. And being a surgeon, with its grueling hours and complete lack of control over my own time, made that impossible.

I looked into non-clinical careers—admin, pharma, consulting—but they felt like the equivalent of trading one cage for another. I didn’t want to just exist in another system; I wanted freedom. I wanted to be hands-on helping people, but in a way that allowed me to own my time.

That’s how I found coaching. And I loved it—but becoming an entrepreneur was overwhelming. Suddenly, I had to learn an entirely new language—marketing, email funnels, websites, branding. I felt like I had to be not only a coach, but a graphic designer, an influencer, and a marketing expert. I made mistakes, spent way too much money on things I didn’t need, and got lost in conflicting advice. What I really needed was someone who could listen to me, help me figure out what I actually wanted, and, even better, build it for me.
