Quick answers to the usual questions.
Do I need to leave medicine to do this?
No. Plenty of physicians build a coaching, consulting, or course business while they're still practicing, whether that's full-time, part-time, or locums. The only thing you need to have decided is that you're building the business. Whether you keep, cut back, or leave clinical work is a separate decision, and it's entirely yours.
What about liability and scope of practice?
As long as you're coaching and not giving medical advice, ordering labs, or doing anything clinical, you're not practicing medicine. We'll draw that line clearly for your specific business, and I'll walk you through the coaching insurance most of us carry. For anything legal, like entity setup or disclaimers, I'll help you figure out what you need, and a healthcare attorney handles the paperwork.
Do I need a coaching certification first?
No. Coaching isn't regulated, and your clinical years already taught you to listen, which is most of the job. A certification can make you a better coach (I have one myself), but it isn't a requirement to start. If you want a good place to begin, I recommend The HeART of Laser-Focused Coaching by Marion Franklin.
How do I know if the Concierge or the Academy is right for me?
If you'd rather spend your time on clients than on setup and want the whole thing done in 3 months, that's the Concierge. If you like knowing how things work, want to go at your own pace, or want a smaller investment, that's the Academy. Both follow the same PIVOT Framework, and if you start in the Academy and want me to take a piece off your plate, you can add done-for-you help along the way.
Is the consult free?
No. Consults are $100, and the full amount is credited toward your first payment if you sign. It means everyone on the call has shown up ready to decide, and it lets me prepare for your specific situation beforehand.
I'm not a physician. Can we still work together?
Probably. Everything here is written for women physicians, but I've worked with therapists, lawyers, and other professionals who were great at their jobs and new to online business. If that sounds like you, send me a message and I'll tell you whether it's a fit.
